Highway Patrol Officer Charles H. Sorenson took up pursuit of two young men ages 16 and 18, in a stolen car on Highway 12. The suspect’s car crashed into a pole and the two fled into a backyard. Officer Sorenson followed them on foot. As the patrolman attempted to arrest the young men, the 18 year old shot and killed the Officer.
