On February 28, 1987, after repeated attempts, Officer David Trabucco managed to rescue a paralyzed man from a burning house minutes before the house exploded. Officer Trabucco endangered his safety and risked his life in order to save the life of a helpless victim, and his actions were above and beyond the call and scope of duty that day.
