Gold Medal of Valor
On September 26, 1963, Mr. Boucher was en route to Coloma to inspect a construction project. In a heroic attempt to save the life of a man trapped in an overturned pickup truck, Mr. Boucher was hurled about 20 feet by an explosion. In addition to suffering numerous burns and lacerations, an eardrum was ruptured, a leg shattered and an elbow dislocated. Mr.Boucher spent several weeks in a hospital and several more weeks recuperating at his home.
