Public Safety Officer Medal of Valor

On February 17, 2005, Officers Troy Zeeman and Bryan Gregson of the Los Angeles Police Department observed a known gang member who had a record of violent crime against the citizens of Los Angeles and was suspected of a drive-by shooting that killed an innocent woman. The officers attempted to take the gang member into custody which subsequently led to a foot pursuit and a gun battle. At one point, the suspect aimed his gun at Officer Zeeman and said, "You're dead." Fortunately, the bullet missed and the officers were able to return fire, wounding the suspect, which led to his capture.
